Bring an interactive art experience into your classroom! Each valise is a portable work of art that provides students a complete experience – from seeing, discussing, and touching the art to creating works of their own. With curricular connections to math, language arts, social studies and science, The Valise Project offers a powerful interdisciplinary learning opportunity.
A Lux teacher will bring a valise to your classroom and lead an interactive 2-hour session that includes a project focused on the valise. Before the visit, you will receive a teaching guide with suggestions for incorporating The Valise Project into appropriate grade-level curricula.
Call for rates. Multiple presentations offered at a discounted rate. Or contact Erick Perez at [email protected]. We kindly request that you schedule presentations at least one month in advance.
Valise programs are also available for senior centers and community organizations.
The Valise Project is graciously supported by Coastal Community Foundation, an organization that provides substantial grant funding to instructors across North County San Diego. Additional support comes from the David T. and Dorris E. Staples Foundation, the Carlsbad Education Foundation, and the Nordson Corporation Foundation.
Bring your class for an interactive tour that includes a 45-minute docent-led exploration of the artist studio for high school and college groups. Students have the opportunity to meet the artist-in-residence during residency periods or to sketch in the studio during non-residency times.
