Virtual VALISE PROJECT

Bring an interactive art experience into your virtual classroom! Each valise is a portable work of art that provides students a complete experience – from seeing, discussing, and touching the art to creating works of their own. The Virtual Valise Project allows a Lux Teaching Artist to virtually visit you classroom and lead a discussion and interactive hands-on art making experience. All materials will be provided by Lux for pick-up at your students' school.

HOW IT WORKS

A Lux Teaching Artist will bring a virtual valise to your classroom and lead a 90 minutes-session that includes an interactive lesson and a hands-on art project focused on the selected valise. The lessons use visual art concepts to teach notions of history, science, and culture. They are designed for elementary and middle school students. Before the virtual visit, materials will be distributed to schools, two weeks prior.
If time is limited, the Virtual Valise Project can be taught in a 60-minute lesson with a printable lesson plan with found materials from home.
