Todd Noe

Inspired by the concept of the circus wagon, artist Todd Noe created a rugged rolling trunk with a side that flips down to reveal eleven compartments. Each compartment houses a miniature bronze sculpture that references an aspect of American life. When each sculpture is situated along a chain that hangs above the trunk, the result is a panoramic view of America.

About the artist: Todd Noe is a sculptor from Philadelphia. Noe works in metal, sculpting customary objects in surprising sizes and grouping them in surprising combinations. His work is characterized by many individual pieces which, when assembled together, form a visual dialogue.

Noe graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art with a Bachelors of Fine Art from the Metals Department in 1981 and received his Masters degree in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1983. He has taught in various universities throughout the east coast and shows his work in galleries across the country.
